מדריך אתרי הטיפוס הישראלי
כבר שנים רבות מנסים אנשים לכתוב
גיידבוק מלא לארץ ישראל. שילוב של הרבה אתרים קטנים עם הרבה מידע על כל אחד מהם
בנוסף למחסור בכוח אדם ואמצעים לא אפשרו להרים את הפרוייקט. גם עבדכם הנאמן היה
אחד מאותם אנשים אשר ניסו את כוחם אל מול האתגר ההולך וגדל ככל שנפתחים עוד ועוד
אתרים ומסלולים.
ההתמודדות האישית שלי עם הפרוייקט
החלה לפני שנתיים, בסוף שנת 2005, אז אספתי חומר גרפי רב בהרבה מאוד נסיעות לאתרים השונים וביליתי
ימים שלמים בשטח, אך לא ידעתי שהמכשול הגדול היה עוד לפני. להפתעתי דווקא איסוף המידע
ההיסטורי סביב כל אתר ומסלול היו אלה שהקשו על התקדמות הפרויקט. איסוף המידע הטכני
על כל מסלול כמו האורך ומספר הבולטים היוו מכשלה לא קטנה גם כן. חשוב לציין כי
מטרת המועדון האלפיני כמו גם מטרתי היא לאסוף כמה שיותר מידע, לתרגם אותו לפורמט
ממוחשב אך יחד עם זאת, לשמור על איכות גבוהה ואחידה של תיאור האתרים עם כוונה
ברורה לרכז אותם לבסוף לספר אחד אשר יודפס ויימכר.
לאחרונה, בקיץ 2007, הצטרף לכוחותי רן (רני) שדמי. רני, חמוש בהרבה זמן פנוי
החל לאסוף מידע קונקרטי על מסלולים תוך כדי ביקורים רגילים כמו גם יזומים במצוקים
השונים. מאוחר יותר, עם ההחלטה הטקטית לכתוב את הגיידבוק באנגלית, אף גילה כישורי
תרגום והגהה מצוינים. ביחד, רני ואני הצלחנו להרים גיידבוק מקצועי ומרשים לשלושה
אתרים כרגע, כאשר האתרים הנוספים כבר בקנה. על מנת לעזור לנו באיסוף המידע הטכני
וההיסטורי החלטנו בהחלטה טקטית נוספת להעלות את המידע לרשת.
בעזרתו המוערכת של גידי הולנדר אשר
בנה את פורמט האינטרנט בו מייד תצפו העלנו את החומר לאינטרנט אך לא סתם; מנגנון זה
מיועד לאסוף כמה שיותר מידע על האתרים בעזרתכם! העמדנו לרשותכם כל החומר הן
כתמונות והן כקובץ PDF המוכן להדפסה, בתחתית כל עמוד אתר ישנה
מערכת טוקבקים המאפשרת לכם להעיר הערות ולהציע תיקונים לאותו אתר ממש, כאשר הערות
אלו יהוו בסיס לשיפור הקובץ המקורי. פעם בחודש, יתעדכנו כל מדריכי האתרים ויועלו
מחדש לרשת.
התייחסותכם למידע חשובה לנו מאוד, אך שימו
לב, זוהי אינה פלטפורמה לקיום דיונים שלמים על מהות הבולט הזה או המסלול ההוא,
ההערות צריכות להיות קצרות וענייניות. הן צריכות לתרום לנו ברמת איסוף המידע החסר
בלבד. אנו שמחים שאנחנו יכולים לעזור ולהציע את כל החומר לרשותכם, עזרו לנו להשלים
את כל המידע החסר.

The Israeli Guidebook
For many years, people
have tried to put together a complete climbing guidebook for Israel. The
combined difficulties of many small sites with large amount of information on
each one of them, plus the lack of manpower and facilities, made it difficult
to launch such a project. Even yours truly tried to take on the ever growing
challenge, as constantly more and more climbing sites and routes are being
opened.
My personal dealing with the
project started two years ago, at the end of 2005. At the time, I was gathering
a great deal of graphic material, the result of extensive trips to the
different sites, and spending days on sites. I still didn’t realize what
difficulties lay farther ahead.
To my surprise the
thing that hindered my progress the most was actually the gathering of
historical data about the climbing sites and the names of all the routes.
Collecting of technical information was not a small issue either, I needed to find out the length of
every route, the number of bolts etc’.
It is important to
mention that the goal of the ‘Israeli Alpine Club’ as well as my own goal, is
to gather as much information as possible and convert it to a standardized
format, while keeping a constant high quality of site description with a clear
intent to add it all up to a book that will eventually be printed, published
and sold.
Lately, in the summer
of 2007, I welcomed an addition to my force: Ran (Rani) Shadmi, armed with
plenty of free time, had started collecting information on the climb routes.
Ran gathered the info during his regular climbing visits to the crags as well
as specific visits in the sole purpose of gathering info. Later, when the
tactical decision to write the guide book in English was taken, Ran’s
translation and proofing skills were revealed as well. Together, Rani and I had
succeeded in creating a professional and impressive guidebook for three sites;
other sites will be published in the near future. In order to facilitate the
gathering of info, we have reached another tactical decision – we decided to
publish the guide book on the web.
With the highly
appreciated help of Giddy Hollander, who built the Internet format you are about
to watch, the guide book is now “on the air”.
This online format has
another purpose; it is a mechanism designed to gather as much information as
possible on the sites with your help!
All the material is
presented both in a pictorial format as well as a PDF file ready for printing.
At the bottom of each
web page there is a talkback system that allows you to remark and suggest
corrections for the specific site or route. The guide sheets will be updated
and reloaded to the web once a month.
Your input is very
important to us, but please note that this is not a platform for
debating the nature of ‘that one bolt’ or ’that other route’. Remarks should be short, specific and
to the point. Your remarks should help us fill in the missing information in
our routes & sites database.
We are pleased to
offer this information to the climbers community, and will greatly appreciate
if you will help us “fill in the blanks”.

The Route wizard
This is an additional system to the guide
that uses the advantages of the Internet and databases. This system allows you
to receive even more information than is written on the guide, about route grading
and route quality.
We are well aware of
fact that grading and quality (star grading) are of individual and personal
opinion, therefore they are different between every climber. The Wizard allows
you to see the full list of all the routes including an average vote (by
visitor climbers) regarding the grade and quality of each route. The wizard
also helps you find routes by name or site.
